Boys Tennis Update

Vikram Khot, Writer

The boys tennis season recently ended, and it was a good season overall. Lack of experience was a small issue, as less than half of the team had varsity experience.

Freshman, Isaac Fagre, was the #1 singles player, with juniors Ian Hoppe and Bentley Soukaphaly returning at the #2 and #4 singles spots. The #3 singles spot was another freshman, Vikram Khot.

Two seniors, Jack Gannon and Chou Vang, took the #1 doubles spot, and they managed to win multiple games because of their experience. Sophomores Harrison LaBlanc and Nathaniel Fredricks were at the #2 doubles for most of season. Austin VandenPlas and Arturo Solis Gonzalez took the #3 doubles after joining tennis for the first time this season, and improved a lot along with everybody else. Eli Bartels, Stevens Solis Gonzalez, Kong Meng Xiong, and Kyle O’Deen represented Preble well for Junior Varsity.

As the season progressed, the tennis team had its ups and downs, but they improved tremendously. It all culminated in a 4-3 victory over Ashwaubenon to move ahead of them in the season standings. It was all possible thanks to the efforts of coaches Sara Schubring and Nathaniel Jackson, as well as the Preble strength coach Ty Kraynik.
