Preble DECA Makes it to State!

Vikram Khot, Author

DECA is a club where students learn skills in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Every year, there is a regional competition in which Preble DECA competes at. Students take a 100 question test and participate in two role plays, in which they have to demonstrate business knowledge. Preble DECA competed in the regional competition on Saturday, January 8th. There were 21 students who will be moving onto the state competition, which takes place on Monday, February 21st through Thursday, February 24th in Lake Geneva, WI. The group that will be headed to state includes four member who won their event, and five other members who finished on the podium (1st-4th place). Seven members made it as a wildcard winner, which means that their scores were high enough to make it to state, but not on the podium.

The students who made it to state  are: Emily Koepp, Emma Dornbush, Miyah Washington, Grace Hazuka, Sumedha Hill, Adam Brunner, Ava Brunner, Brandon Linssen, Megan Jonet, Erik Franko, Coleman LaBlanc, Vikram Khot, Jacob Gerhartz, Caleb Umentum, Reagan Saharsky, Vanessa Gutierrez, Areli Villegas, Diana Bonilla, Callie Pakkala, Ian Hoppe, and Kyle Odeen.
