Spring Sports Updates

This has definitely been a spring sports season like no other, but our Hornets have persevered and pulled some great victories!

Congratulations to the varsity girls softball team on an undefeated season so far! Preble had only four varsity players out to start the year, but nothing on or off the field has slowed the Hornets, who are the top-ranked team in the state. Coach Metzler also celebrated his 200th win last week. Way to go, Hornets!

Preble is full of some pretty amazing Hornet track stars this season! Making the top ten all time list includes freshman Amanda Vancalster in the 400m dash, senior Kayla Starnes in the discus, and sophomore Hailey Novitski in the 3200m run. The boys team also took the title as city champs at the Green Bay City Meet. The girls and boys both head into conference next week. Good luck!

The varsity boys baseball team has been playing some amazing games! A shoutout goes to Andrew Pludeman, Jake Petasek, Jimmy Kirkish, Ian Johnson, Wyatt Wiitanen, Jagger Vine, and Jeremy Jahnke who all helped score runs for the Hornets in their recent game versus Ashwaubenon this past week. The Hornets are 11-6 overall and 7-6 in the FRCC. Great job!

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team has been working hard this season despite some rainy days and practices! The varsity girls will compete in WIAA regionals in the next couple weeks. Let’s go, ladies!
