Summer break is near! Here are a few things you can do over the summer
Chalk Drawings – everywhere, on the driveway, on the roads, on the sidewalks (be reasonable)
Swimming! Go to Joanne’s Water Park or take a trip with your family or friends or even by yourself to different lakes and rivers. One suggestion is Neshotah Park.
Biking – We have a lot of trails here in Green Bay! For example the Fox River trail.
Go to Bay Beach with others!
Wildlife Sanctuary – Feed the geese, and visit it’s other animals
Go to the Farmer’s Market! Get some cheese curds, shaved ice and sugar snap peas. Mmmm, yummy.
Play as many board games as you can! Games like Apples to Apples and Monopoly.
Have bonfires. That is always a fun classic thing to do. Make dinner over your bonfire perhaps. Roast hot dogs and marshmallows
Sleep under the stars
Make tie-dye things! T-shirts, socks, pillowcases, etc.
Read as many books as you can. Find what you’re interested in and read more about it! Or discover what genre of books you like
Have a water balloon fight
Have a squirt gun fight
Try out grilling! With supervision, of course
Learn how to braid or french braid
Make friendship bracelets! An amazing way to pass the time
Don’t be afraid to get dirty and messy! Roll around in the mud.
Play lawn games such as lawn darts, ladder climb, bean bag toss, kick ball, etc.
Go backyard camping. Set up a tent in your backyard and pretend to be camping! (with the luxury of your house bathroom)
Go to Baird’s Creek
Listen to a new genre of music. You may be surprised! I suggest the works of Andrea Bocelli or Paganini. Also, check out some classic rock. That really hits the spot.
Go kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, boating of any sort, if possible! Super fun.
Smile to others while you are out and about
Be active! Go for walks, runs, hikes, etc.
While your out dress and pretend to be a different person!
Explore different styles
Go thrift shopping! You will find amazing things.
Pick flowers and put them in a vase in your home
Take pictures of yourself and others. You could pretend you are a warrior or royalty while taking these pictures
Find out more about your heritage and where you come from if possible! For example, I am mostly German with French, Scandinavian (Danish, I want to say) and Polish.
If you are going to college next year and living in a dorm compile a list of things you need or want for school life and dorm life.
Lay in the grass while listening to good happy music or don’t listen to music. Listen to the sounds of the leaves and the wind.
Go kite flying!
When it’s raining, put on a bathing suit (or stay in your clothes I suppose) and dance in the rain! Have fun!
Visit waterfalls. Places like Fonfericks or Wequiock falls.
Catch bugs and put them in jars or containers to observe them.
Get something from an ice cream truck
Go strawberry picking!
Make new friends! I know, harder than it sounds. Believe me, I know. But at least try!
Spend time with your elders. Listen to what they have to say and listen to their stories of life. Maybe even record it and/or write stuff down!
Get a sun tan!
Go listen to some outdoor music and concerts
Go to the Neville Museum!
